Lee
Seiler grew up in El Cerrito California, 20 miles North of Treasure Island
where his father was stationed at the Navy base. To make up for the
lack of modern day amusements, he occupied his time sculpting ships
and boats in soft modeling clay. Having always been artistic, he was
fortunate enough to receive encouragement from his family.
After
military service in the US Army, Lee began a career in the foundling
computer industry with Remington Rand in San Francisco, and from there
to the University of California Berkeley - Department of Naval Architecture,
as a model ship builder for the University's model ship towing tank.
Lee's work over the years included working models of Navy Polaris Submarines,
Pipe barges, Oil skimmers, Container ships, Underwater Nuclear power
plants, Tension legs Oil exploration rigs, Cup sailboats and more. After
retiring form the University Lee returned to the Computer software industry
located in silicon valley to become CEO of Radiance Software, which
produced and distributed UNIX 3D software world wide, which he abandoned
in 1998 to pursue his interest in model ship building. Lee has returned
to his first love, creating Submarines in the form of Model Kits distributed
by Totalimmersion LLC.
His
work has received awards including the 1983 Television EMMY for best
technical achievement in a local show. Lee's Dinosaur sculptures appear
in many museums world wide. He also earned two collage degrees, a BA
in engineering and masters in commercial Art.
